Harmony Day Celebrations on Friday, 5th April, all welcome. What a fabulous day we had celebrating Harmony day. We experienced new foods, dance performances from different countries including Samoa, Cook Island and New Zealand and listened to the accompanying beats. A great day had by all - thanks to everyone that came to help celebrate cultural diversity and the contributions from the staff and students.

Announcements

Dear parents & community members,

Whilst we have many reasons to celebrate student achievement over this term a standout event for me was the Poetry Slam held on Friday. The competition was open to Year 10 students with exceptions being given to last years winners who were given the opportunity to hold on to their title.

The poems or raps written and performed by the students were of a very high standard, they were honest and insightful, and many were very moving. It was also great opportunity for staff to share their poems and role model vulnerability in performing their poems in front of an audience.

We look forward to continuing to work with you next term. I hope you all enjoy the break. We look forward to seeing all students Monday 10 October!

Kind regards,

Joanne Alford

Principal

As our partnership with REPCO continues, Local Area Manager Michael Ryan performed a walk through in our work shop to complete an OH&S audit in the last week of Term 1 2024. He identified inadequate lighting as well as the need for a Mounted First Aid kit . With the approval of the Principal Ms Alford, we have since been in contact with St Johns who will be supplying a First Aid Kit in week 2. Mr Ryan has also donated $800.00 worth of LED lighting to be installed by CKS Electric. On behalf of all the Students we want to say thankyou to the support of the College Leadership team for their vision and Mr Ryan for his passion and commitment to the VROOM project. “All students should do VROOM as it helps us become independent young adults…”- Oliver [Current VROOM student]
