Announcements

Dear parents & community members,

Whilst we have many reasons to celebrate student achievement over this term a standout event for me was the Poetry Slam held on Friday. The competition was open to Year 10 students with exceptions being given to last years winners who were given the opportunity to hold on to their title.

The poems or raps written and performed by the students were of a very high standard, they were honest and insightful, and many were very moving. It was also great opportunity for staff to share their poems and role model vulnerability in performing their poems in front of an audience.

We look forward to continuing to work with you next term. I hope you all enjoy the break. We look forward to seeing all students Monday 10 October!

Kind regards,

Joanne Alford

Principal

News

During the holidays our gymnasium underwent a much needed and very overdue facelift. Mural and tattoo artist Hayden Wolfe and our very own Jeremiah Daniels Pepperill worked throughout the two week holiday break to transform our gymnasium, painting a 110m mural across all four walls. The mural features some Australian sporting legends; Patty Mills, Sam Kerr, Adam Goodes and Taliqua Clancy, and a cultural story designed and painted by Jeremiah. The new art makes the space feel colourful, light and vibrant. Both students and staff are in awe of the work Hayden and Jeremiah were able to complete in such a short amount of time and the mural is something that will be appreciated for many years to come. Thanks to Hayden for the massive amount of work put in by him and the professional product he delivered, and to Jeremiah for coming in during the school holidays to help Hayden and learn some mural art skills.
